Metal-ceramic filter elements

Metal-ceramic filter elements for fine, ultrafine and microfiltration are created by thickening a coarse-disperse structure.

Metal-ceramic filter elements

Features

  • Coatings are applied by metallic and non-metallic CVD coating deposition methods.
  • Coating materials are Cu, Mo, Ni, SiC, Al2O3, Mo2C.
  • The coating thickness is 30-50 microns.

The closest analog are millipore polymer filters (nuclear membranes), which are very widely used in fine chemistry.

Their advantages are their very high chemical resistance and the possibility of obtaining ultrafine filters.

Their disadvantages are:

a) inability to operate at temperatures above 100-200 C, which prevents high-temperature processes, but also high-temperature regeneration and sterilization;

b) pore surface is only polymeric, which sharply limits the catalytic capabilities;

c) low mechanical strength, which does not allow to carry out processes under pressure.

The main advantages of metal-ceramic filters:

  • - ability to operate at high temperatures;
  • the possibility of creating a wide range of materials forming the filter surface, creating the necessary prerequisites for many high-temperature catalytic processes;
  • the possibility of a significant increase in the strength of the filters, which allows the transition to processes under pressure and improve both technology (the possibility of using higher pressures) and economics (increased yield of a suitable product due to better filtration).

Developed new types of composite inorganic parts have, in addition to separation parameters, additional functions, such as catalytic activity, which makes it possible to fundamentally new solutions to a number of technological problems with the help of baromembrane actions.

Application of metal-ceramic filters is promising in fine chemistry, biological and microbiological food industry. Such filters will prove to be absolutely necessary for fine and ultrafine purification of drinking water (especially in combination with chemical purification).

Metal-ceramic filters for fine filtration have been developed for multifunctional tank equipment of pharmaceutical industries. For the pharmaceutical industry it is fundamentally new filters, as only fabric and plastic filters are mostly used. High corrosion resistance in the most aggressive typical media of SLS synthesis.
